Before Your Appointment
For your first wax, allow your hair to grow AT LEAST 3 weeks before your first appointment for the best results.
Please ensure to read the "Waxing Precautions" section of my website to ensure that none of the things on that page apply to you. If anything on that page applies to you, you are not a candidate for waxing because you run the risk of bruising, severe skin lifting, among other issues.
Please shower before your appointment. Wax does not adhere to dirty or oily skin. Also do not use lotion, body oils on the day of your waxing for the same reason.
Always exfoliate on the day of your waxing appointment. Do not exfoliate to point where your skin is sore. It is recommended that you use a clean exfoliating mitt in the shower on a daily basis to gently exfoliate the skin.
You can be waxed while on your period as long as you have a clean tampon or menstrual cup in place. Just keep in mind you may be more sensitive to pain during a wax while on your period as well as 3 days before or after it. You cannot be waxed if you have an active flow and are not wearing a clean tampon or menstrual cup due to the risk of blood born illnesses.
If you are nervous about any pain or discomfort during your wax, No-Scream Cream is available for purchase prior to your appointment. Apply 45 minutes prior to your waxing appointment, and it will numb the surface of your skin and take about 50-75% of the pain away!
Don't wear tight clothes to your appointment. Tight clothes block the hair form getting to the surface and can cause ingrown hairs. It can also cause chafing and perspiration after a wax, which can lead to infection. It's best to wear or bring clean, loose-fitting cotton clothing and undergarments to your appointment. Furthermore, ensure that your everyday underwear is not too tight so as to avoid ingrown hairs in the future. Thongs arenot recommended for everyday use while waxing.
